paint colors

We had a bunch of chips laying around and then swatched and then watched the light play with each color. Sara at Four over One helped us find the bold vivid colors that would compliment rather than distract from the house. My default response of 'paint it purple' was heard and then we moved on to what will be beautiful. Paint color will go up around October 7th is my guess.  I assume the house will be finished around October 16th. End of summer

Here we are at the end of summer. We've been thrifting, selling, placing for weeks now. Probably a truckload still to the dump, another to the thrift, and random things we're on the lookout for. Some recents include... Push button switches Transoms The upstairs starting to look finished. Our Ringside painting from Bruce Mitchell now hung in place of safe lighting and prominence.  Our little upstairs nook. We can read there. No it's not Africa.  And when we're not housing, I'm making a Bat Mobile for my little gothlings. Purple and Red hot air balloon currently drying.  Someone completed their first year. Is walking, babbling, and giggling all day.  Someone else started first grade...  Did you wonder if I could find a post office? I always find post offices. This may be the making of a great road trip one day.  Sure - we have a couple of hours. Let's go to Mt. Rainier and ...

yesterday the wonderful Juan at Zarazura painting spent a day doing a demonstration. What a brilliant idea, he and his two guys spend a day doing the work then at the end of the day meet with the homeowner to align expectations and course correct if necessary.  Our test wall, in the art room, in Oil Pro Classic B-2 white.

PAINT

All caps. That's the voice in my head screaming PAINT over and over and over again. Paint represents so much. It means we can hang the curtains we purchased months ago. It means we can hang art on the walls. It means no more boxes, no more piles, no more paint chips. It means finality on a project that has often felt unending. At work we were making trend lines of projected outcomes. I rather blithely said, right, you can never appease the trend line. It's additive to success and always demands more. You'll never hit a goal using a trendline that adjusts to performance because it creates a recursive performance and each new gift raises expectations. It's the epitome of sure, but what have you done for me lately. This house is that. Sure we won't actually be done, we'll have the master suite, the sun room, and the tile in the girl's bathroom. But holy hell, what all have we done. It's been a constant stream since we bought the house and before...

Color

It's swatched on the house and I like it!  Ignore the purple, that will be painted over with some trim colors soon.
